Trip to MN

So I decided to spend my Thanksgiving weekend with Natasha. I thought about driving up Friday morning, but didn't want to be tired for the rest of the day. Instead, I headed out Thursday (Thanksgiving) evening. I made it to her in 6 hours. My time would have been better if I didn't get impatient and make a wrong turn. On Friday evening, took me to the Weisman Art Museum. The outside of the building is very artsy and looks awesome with the sunset reflecting on it. We got inside with just enough time to look around at the clothing exhibit. I didn't understand all of it, but it was neat to see different ideas. Natasha then took me out to a great restaurant on UMN campus called Joe's Garage. Very good food and cool looking building. The event for the night was at the Brave New Workshop to see their performance called Christmas - The Other White Holiday. This was a great show of many small skits all about Christmas and winter. They then did a live improve performance for the 3rd act. I would highly recommend seeing this or any performance at the Brave New Workshop. Saturday was all about the Mall of America. I had wanted to do some shopping and I knew that Natasha wouldn't mind having an excuse to go to a mall. Plus, she really wanted to see the world's largest gingerbread house. Unfortunately, she was expecting large meaning you could walk around a few inside rooms and not something that's just really tall. She's re-termed it the world's largest disappointment of a gingerbread house. That night, her brother had set up a VIP room at Myth night club for all of us (me, Natasha, her bro, his fiance, her bro/his friend). Little did we know that it was the Hmong New Year and 90% of the people were celebrating it. It didn't keep us from having a great time. That club has a huge dance floor and then a stage. They had performances modeled after celebrity performances every half hour or so. We had an excellent time. I had a great time meeting her family and look forward to visiting her in MN again.
