My mom got this birdfeeder for Mother's day from her sister. I think it's really nice because it holds a lot of food. I even thought that the squirrels might not be able to get to the food on this one. Well, after several months, we find one squirrel is attempting to get to the food. He's chewing the center of the top thinking he'll have easy access to the food like on our other feeder. This other hanging feeder has

a plastic dome sitting on top. The squirrels enlarged the inner diameter and can crawl through it down to the food. Little does this one know, this bird feeder is much more complicated.
That was Sunday. Today I find, I think a different, younger squirrel, propped on the base of the feeder. He's happily poking his head in the opening and eating as much food as he likes. Apparently, the squirrels found that it's not so easy to chew throught the top. I'd like to see what they would do next if I removed the base ledge.
Ohhh, I miss those little bastards, they're just awesome. now just start doing set ups like Day light robbery. Make them work for it.
