Wednesday (12/12/07), the temperature had risen and started melting the snow. The streets had gotten slushy and water was dripping off roofs as if it were raining. It was cold enough to form icicles. Last year, I got a good shot one out my bedroom window so I tried to get another one this year.

Here's this year's icicle shot.
Overnight Thursday, the temperature dropped below freezing and all the slush froze. The cool effect was the snow; it now had a hard glaze.

The icy glazed snow looked really cool in the light. You can see the waviness. I took this Friday night in the front of the house with the street light casting a shadow of the tree on the shimmery, icy snow.
Very cool picture. It's been so pretty lately out here (probably there, too) with all the trees covered in white snow/ice that just glows.
