Power Outage

Last night, we ordered pizza from Tortorices (great cheese). I was checking out the new game Assassin's Creed while I was waiting for the pizza. All of a sudden, the power goes out. There's no thunderstorm, so I wasn't sure what would have caused it. I went outside to check the power lines, but that hasn't been the cause in a long time. We pick up the pizza and find out that they too have lost power, which surprises us because they're not right around the corner. We eat dinner with what light is left in the day. The automated response from ComEd let us know that it was a big section that had lost power and they didn't expect it back until 8:30. Just as we were about to get out the candles, the power goes back on just after 7. We couldn't figure out what had caused the power outage, but knew it must have been something substantial due to all the emergency vehicles rushing around. This morning's paper had the answer: a car crash.

  1. That power outage looks crazy. We had pretty intense flooding in DeKalb from the Kishwaukee River, but fortunately we didn't lose power and our apartment, being on the third floor, wasn't affected. Cool pics!
